Tips for choosing between Linux and Windows:

In general, there is not much difference today between Linux and Windows hosting in terms of reliability or security. Both platforms are very secure and stable on our servers.

In the past, Linux was more stable and secure, but Microsoft has made great strides in recent years in those areas. However, because of Microsoft licensing costs, Windows is somewhat more expensive than Linux.

The only difference in hosting features is the development environment. With Windows, you will have access to ASP and the .NET framework, as well as MS-SQL With Linux, you will have access to PHP, Perl, and MySQL databases.

If you don't have specific development requirements, then you may want to select Linux to save a bit on the cost, all else being equal.
